But how can that be? We can teach a child how to do a back flip on a beam that is 10 cm wide, we can teach a 4 yr old how to swim, monkeys to jump through hoops and people of all ages to use chop sticks efficiently, but we cannot teach willing adults how to change their movement habits and avoid strain.
So what’s the way forward?
It’s a kinaesthetic approach we call ‘physical intelligence.’ Have you ever asked the question why some individuals get pain and injury while others doing the same task don’t?
Just as you can learn a lot about chess by studying a grandmaster’s moves, you can pick up priceless insights into health by observing those who use their bodies well and have avoided injury.
Our training approach effectively transfers the knowledge of the uninjured worker, the physically intelligent’, to all workers.
This leaves individuals with the ability to reconnect with their bodies, and start making simple changes that lead to giant improvements in their physical wellbeing and giant improvements in your injury statistics.

Our mission is to make it easy |

When you work with Provention, you won’t be dealing with an ivory tower expert who delivers a rote solution and walks away. Our job is to make sure your people develop better ways of working. We’ll be there as long as it takes. |

Make sure they own the solution |
|
Our role is to come up with options and strategies that each individual can use to manage their own wellbeing.
Instead of an inflexible list of rules – many of which do not work in real life – we help them develop new movements and options that work for them. Of course there is sound physiological science and adult learning principles underlying everything we teach, but the key is to make sure individuals have the tools to make safe decisions in changing environments.
This brings about ownership and long term behaviour change, which is vital for lasting results. |
